Comparative Effectiveness of Trauma-Focused and Non-Trauma-Focused Treatment Strategies for PTSD among Those with Co-Occurring SUD (COMPASS)

COMPASS is a research study to help improve the treatment of PTSD for Veterans who also have problems with drug and alcohol use. This study will help us understand which type of treatment will help more with trauma symptoms. Participants will receive either treatment focused on talking or thinking about a past trauma, or treatment that is focused on current problems in life.

COMPASS is funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) PCORI #PTSD-2019-16009

This project is coordinated out of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System and the Center for Veteran Research and Education (CVRE).
